Mylodon is a cousin of Megatherium. His long tail served as support to stand on his two hind legs in order to catch the tall leaves. He lived in Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) until about 5,000 years ago. He was probably able to live in arid to semi-arid and cold climates, humid and hot climates and colder and mountain climates.
