Avimimus is a small cousin of the herbivorous oviraptor feeding on the tough Cretaceous plants, although it sometimes feeds on insects. The avimimus is a gregarious species that lives in flight for different reasons such as courtship, quest for food or to escape predators like Tarbosaurus.
